President’s Message
It is a great honour to address the esteemed members of the Southern Economic Association (SEA). As President, I reaffirm our commitment to advancing not only academic excellence but also policy-relevant research that contributes meaningfully to public decision-making.
At a time of rapid economic and technological transformation, Southern India stands at the forefront of growth and innovation. The choices we make today in areas such as infrastructure, employment, skills, and inclusive development will shape the region’s future.
SEA must act as a bridge between research and policy—promoting evidence-based insights that address pressing challenges like inequality, agrarian distress, and climate resilience. I urge researchers, especially young scholars, to engage in grounded, interdisciplinary work that informs governance at all levels.
Together, let us strengthen SEA as a credible policy voice and ensure that our research creates real impact for society.
